I just recently returned from an awesome trip to Tokyo with Krystin and Michelle. Overall the trip was amazing, and a much needed break from everything happening in Shanghai. I’m currently working on several projects that have kept me from updating this blog, among other things.
Because I am long overdue for a new post, I decided to quickly put up some pictures from our time in Akihabara before I get sucked back into work and let another 2 weeks pass by.
So Akihabara is supposed to be the electronics/gadget part of town. The area was lined with huge buildings housing only arcade games and random Best-Buy-like stores. When we went, it was raining like crazy, so I didn’t get to take too many pics. Earlier in the day Krystin and I bought some cool clear umbrellas that most of the Japanese locals seem to use. They were fairly cheap and pretty cool looking. One gust of wind and my umbrella was dead beyond repair. Michelle and Krystin had a good laugh at my umbrella failure until….
Apparently, it is really common for these umbrellas to break. Trash cans all over Tokyo were filled with these umbrellas. Lesson learned, these things are not meant to last more than a few minutes in any kind of serious rain.
Yes, I know, first post about Japan and I’m posting about broken umbrellas. There was definitely more cool stuff that happened on our trip, but I want to save some of the pics for when I have time to touch them up.
